Gallery owner, Milla, is thrilled to be welcoming Glasgow based Amy Peoples of conceptual jewellery brand 'People in the Clouds' to give two presentations on her 'Secrets of the Shore' collection - created as a way to carry spectacular shorelines with us in daily life.
Amy Peoples is both an artist and scientist, creating her own enamels from beach sand and fusing them into beautiful handmade silver pebbles.
Each enamel is produced by the varying microscopic components of the sand, and this collection has been made using granules of sand from South Beach, Troon, whose natural compound forms this exquisite blue enamel. Each beach has its own colour, and when fused to Amy's silver pebbles, produces beautiful items of jewellery for both the eyes, hands and heart to enjoy.
For Amy, it is both the art and science coming together to provide a place of sanctuary for the wearer. Her jewellery holds happy places from beaches all over the world made individually for each person to hold a physical connection to their own sanctuary in their own subtle and private way.
